Summer on the Texas Gulf Coast means one thing: the fish are biting, the bay is warm, and Matagorda Bay is calling your name. Whether you’re chasing redfish on the flats, wading for speckled trout near Indianola, or surf fishing the shell beaches at Magnolia Beach, you need a reliable, affordable home base — and Magnolia Beach RV Park delivers exactly that.
Located just minutes from the water at 352 Margie Tewmey Rd, Port Lavaca, TX 77979, our small, quiet coastal RV park offers full hookup sites with all utilities included — electricity, water, sewer, WiFi, and trash — starting at just $40/night this summer. No surprise electricity bills. No resort fees. Just you, your rig, and the best inshore fishing in Texas.
With the Ladies Powder Puff Fishing Tournament kicking off June 12–13, 2026 at Fisherman’s Wharf and the Star Spangled Bay Bash lighting up the Port Lavaca bayfront on July 3, this summer is shaping up to be one of the best on the Coastal Bend. Book your site now before the summer rush fills us up.
Matagorda Bay is one of Texas’s most productive inshore fisheries — and it’s dramatically less crowded than Port Aransas or Rockport. Here’s what draws anglers back year after year:
The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department consistently rates Matagorda Bay as one of the top inshore fisheries on the Gulf Coast. Summer brings warm water temperatures that push baitfish shallow, which in turn concentrates redfish and trout in predictable, accessible locations — perfect for waders, kayakers, and small boat anglers alike.
We’re not a resort. We’re not a campground with a waterpark. We’re a quiet, no-frills coastal RV park built for people who come to the Texas coast to fish, relax, and unplug — without paying resort prices to do it.
Our Summer Rates run April 1 through September 30. Every rate includes electricity, water, sewer, WiFi, and trash service — no add-ons, no surprises.

Port Lavaca has several RV parks to choose from. Here’s how we stack up on the metrics that matter most to summer fishing visitors — especially when it comes to true all-in cost:
| Park | Nightly | Weekly | Monthly | Utilities Included? | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magnolia Beach RV Park | $40 | $175 | $350 | ✅ All included | Quiet, beach access, concrete pads, WiFi, 16 sites |
| Pelican’s Post RV Park | $30 | $150 | $500 | Not confirmed | Lower nightly, but monthly is $150 more |
| Bay View RV Park | $50 | $225 | $395 + elec | ❌ Electricity extra | 61 sites; electricity billed separately |
| Texas Lakeside RV Resort | $61–$76 | $325–$410 + elec | $550–$685 + elec | ❌ Electricity extra | 178 sites; resort pricing; electricity billed separately |
| Nuestro Ranchito RV Park | $25 | $150 | $450 | Not confirmed | 10 sites; 90% occupancy — often full |
| Powderhorn RV Park & Marina | N/A | N/A | $450 + elec | ❌ Electricity extra | Boat ramp/marina access; monthly only listed |
The bottom line: When you factor in electricity costs at parks that bill separately, Magnolia Beach RV Park’s all-inclusive pricing consistently delivers the best value for weekly and monthly stays — especially during summer when air conditioning runs constantly. A summer month of electricity in a Texas RV can easily run $100–$200 extra at parks that meter separately.
Competitor pricing data collected November–December 2024. Rates subject to change — always verify directly with each park.
Planning your trip around a tournament or local event? Here’s what’s happening on the Coastal Bend this summer:
Magnolia Beach RV Park is ideally positioned as your home base for all of these events. Book a weekly stay and catch the tournament, the Juneteenth celebration, and still have time for a full week of fishing.
Texas’s only natural shell beach is a short bike ride from the park. Surf fish from the shoreline for redfish, black drum, and whiting. No crowds, no fees, no hassle. Sunrise sessions here are unforgettable.
A free public fishing pier on Matagorda Bay, just a short drive from the park. Excellent for speckled trout, redfish, and black drum. The pier extends into productive bay water and is accessible to anglers of all ages and abilities.
Wade fishing and kayak fishing on the Matagorda Bay grass flats is world-class. Shell reefs, grass beds, and channel edges hold redfish and trout throughout the summer. Launch from nearby ramps and work the flats at first light.
Port Lavaca’s Lighthouse Beach offers a free public fishing pier, a bird sanctuary, and calm bay water perfect for families and casual anglers. The historic lighthouse makes for a great photo backdrop after a morning on the water.
The Powderhorn Wildlife Management Area offers exceptional wade fishing and kayak access to pristine coastal marshes. Redfish and trout stack up in the cuts and potholes throughout summer.
Our 16-site park attracts a specific kind of guest — people who value quiet, value, and coastal access over resort amenities they’ll never use:
Summer sites at Magnolia Beach RV Park fill up fast — especially around fishing tournaments and holiday weekends. With only 16 sites, we stay intentionally small and quiet. Don’t wait until the last minute.
